Know your number before you walk in
A soft pull takes about a minute and does not touch your credit score. It tells you what you can borrow and roughly what it costs per month, which is a better place to start than falling for a car first.
Start pre-qualification →How it works here
Pre-qualification is a soft inquiry. It is visible to you and invisible to anyone scoring you, so shopping around costs you nothing.
One application goes to several lenders. For everyday cars that means credit unions and banks. For classics and exotics it means the specialty collector-car lenders, who write longer terms against an appraised value rather than a book number, and who a franchise store generally cannot reach.
We will tell you which offer we would take and why, including when the answer is "use your own bank." Our finance office is not a profit centre we are trying to feed.
The hard pull only happens when you pick a car and a lender and say go. Nothing before that point commits you to anything.

Pre-qualification questions
Will this hurt my credit score?
No. Pre-qualification is a soft inquiry. It does not appear to other lenders and it does not affect your score. Only a full application, once you have chosen a car, is a hard pull.
What do I need to hand?
Name, address, date of birth, and gross annual income. That is it to start. Proof of income and insurance come later, and only if you go ahead.
Can I finance a fifty-year-old car?
Yes, through a collector-car lender rather than a normal auto loan. Terms run longer and the loan is written against an appraised value. Tell us which car and we will point the application at the right desk.
What if my credit is rough?
All credit welcome, genuinely. We would rather find you a car that fits the approval than approve you into a payment that ruins the year.
