We buy cars we would never put on the floor
Anything we take in that does not fit the showroom gets wholesaled the same week, which is why we can make a real offer on a nine-year-old commuter as readily as on a 911.
Start an appraisal →What we look at, and what we ignore
Send us the year, make, model, mileage and an honest sentence about condition. Photos help but they are not required to get started.
What moves the number: documented service history, whether the car has been repainted and why, tyre and brake life, and what the same car is actually selling for right now rather than three months ago. On a classic, add originality and matching numbers. On a modern exotic, add option list, because two identical-looking cars can be twenty thousand dollars apart on carbon and a colour.
What does not move it: how clean the car is on the day. We will detail it ourselves. Do not spend a Saturday on it hoping for another five hundred dollars.
You get a real figure from a person, not an instant estimate. If you are upside down on a loan we will say so plainly and show you what the payoff means, rather than folding it into a payment and hoping you do not do the arithmetic.
Trade questions
Do I have to buy something from you?
No. We write cheques for cars every week to people who then drive off in an Uber. Applying the value to something on the floor usually nets you more after tax, but that is your call and we will run both numbers.
Will you appraise a car you would not sell?
Yes. A high-mileage minivan is worth exactly what the wholesale market says it is worth, and we have no reason to be cagey about that number.
How long is the offer good for?
Seven days, subject to the car matching the description when we see it. If it does, the number stands. If it does not, we will show you the difference rather than quietly reprice you at the desk.
What about a classic with a story?
Those are the interesting ones. Bring the folder. Titles, restoration invoices, old registrations, correspondence. Provenance is worth real money and it is the thing most sellers undersell.
